Trust Sweet Iron Baby Pelham Waterford - 16mm
Trust Sweet Iron Baby Pelham Waterford - 16mm
Description
The pelham jaw piece combines the action of a snaffle and a bar and snaffle. The bit has one jaw piece but can be ridden with one or two reins. If you choose to ride with one rein, a converter is needed. The pelham is a lever-action mouthpiece. The longer the shank, the sharper the effect. The baby pelham has short shanks and therefore has a milder effect than the normal pelham.
This bit is not suitable for inexperienced riders.
A Waterford mouthpiece consists of a series of rounded links. It is a flexible bit that molds to the horse's mouth and creates even pressure. It can move in all directions making it difficult for the horse to grasp the bit so the rider maintains proper control. This bit is not suitable for inexperienced riders. In soft hands this mouthpiece is friendly but with a hard hand, the bit can be sharp.
The Sweet Iron bits are made of steel and have a recognizable blue color. Sweet Iron develops surface corrosion through contact with (air) moisture that tastes sweet and stimulates the horse's saliva production naturally. This will cause the horse to foam more, which ensures better acceptance of the bit. This corrosion process (oxidation) changes the blue color of the TRUST bits to brown-gray.
Combines the action of a snaffle and a bar and snaffle
Flexible bit that molds to the horse's mouth
Can move in all directions
Creates even pressure
Stimulates the horse's saliva production naturally
Made of steel and have a recognizable blue color
Has one jaw piece but can be ridden with one or two reins
*Due to the contagious nature of the equine disease EHV 1 and per biosecurity measure guidelines suggested by the American Association of Equine Practitioners, 2nd Round Equestrian will no longer accept returns on bits.
